Imagine going to the pasture to bring in your horse, grooming and saddling him, riding him through sunlit fields and wooded trails.
Then spending your afternoon jumping on the trampolines and having a picnic at the Outback. You can try your hand at tennis, camp crafts, boating on Lake Lorely, bottle feeding a new calf and/or baby goat. Also, wonderful farm food, swimming in the beautiful pool that is heated and shaped liked a horse head, girl talk in the bunk house after lights out and hikes along the wooded bank of the river.
CAMPER SESSIONS
All of our sessions are all inclusive. There is never an extra charge for camp activities, horseback riding or trail rides. Two week sessions which can be combined for up to a 4-week stay. Camper sessions have early registration discounts – so remember to register early for the best pricing. Get ready for a summer of fun!
STARTER CAMP
We have a Starter Camp for first-time campers or younger girls. Starter camp is not required for 1st year campers but is limited to campers who are less than 10 years old.
ONE WEEK SESSION
Our week long session is the best introduction to camp for younger girls who want to try overnight camp and get everything they want in just a few days.
TWO WEEK SESSION
Two week sessions are the best of the BR experience. The longer session gives campers the opportunity to expand their horsemanship skills, friendships, and memories.
MOTHER-DAUGHTER RETREATS
Share all the wonderful things Black River has to offer with your mom! Do you want your mom to understand why you love it so much? Are you alumni who wants to show your daughter how special BR is? Are you thinking about sending your daughter to camp but want to check it out yourself first? Well, this is the weekend for you. Mother Daughter Retreat feels very much like our camper sessions so you will be able to share in the camp experience. Riding lessons, trail rides, swimming in the pool, paddle boarding, quality time together without interruptions of everyday life…priceless! Open to girls 6-16 years old. FAMILY RETREATS
Because camp isn’t just for the kids! Bring your whole family, however you define it, and enjoy an unforgettable weekend on the ranch. Black River Farm and Ranch’s family camp takes you away from your normal routine. Do as much or as little as you like, spending quality time with your loved ones and making new friends. Fill your day with horses and our farm animals, boating, swimming, crafts, archery, hiking, and more. It’s your weekend, spend it however you’d like! During family weekend, adults are responsible for supervising the children in their group. BR staff will be facilitating barn activities and trail rides, but other activities are self-led. There are a few different types of accommodations available and tuition is based on the accommodations your group selects. Our bunkhouses have 8- and 12-person bunk rooms that are semiprivate and share dorm-style bathrooms. There is one 6-person private cabin or a few 2-person rooms with private bathrooms available.
ALUMNI WEEKEND
All BR alumni are invited to the BR’s alumni weekend! This is your weekend. It can be action-packed or relaxing … it is up to you. We do ask that you help us get the horses cleaned up and ready for the summer, and if you dare show us what you’ve got and work a shift in the kitchen. All activities are optional. Included in your weekend are your accommodations (are those bunks smaller or are we bigger?), meals at the ranch, horseback riding (small instruction & trail ride), and activities (swimming, boating, tennis, basketball, campfire with s ‘mores, crafts, Alumni Weekend T-shirt, and much more! We are inviting all past campers and staff (21 years of age and up) that attended Black River, a.k.a BR GIRLS!
