Horse Camp: A Treasure Tail

JRP Studios proudly announces the World Premiere of Horse Camp: a treasure tail. Return to the Black River Farm and Ranch for another great adventure with Lisa, Stacey, and all the BR girls! Every Horse Camp film focuses on one important lesson for young women. Horse Camp: A Treasure Tail, centers on mentorship – don’t be afraid to ask for advice, and be there as a good example and mentor for those younger than you.

The event takes place at The Redford Theater on 4/23/23. Prior to the show we will have photos with a professional and full backdrop, coffee, and refreshments. After the show there will be cake, coffee, and autograph signings.

March Madness

March Madness is back for 2023!

It is time to see who is the best, and we are putting the BR boys to the test! Vote for your favorite horse, one of the new guys, or one of the classic old guys. Who is going to win?!

The competition will start on Thursday, March 16th, on our Instagram. Photos will be posted on our stories so you can vote on which horse should win.

We want the horses to feel all of the love so encourage all of your friends and family to vote!

Click on the “Bracket” button to fill in your prediction for who you think is going to win! The bracket is a grid of all the horses in the tournament and the path they have to follow to the Final Four and the championship round.

Send your filled-in brackets to for a chance to win some awesome BR swag!

Horse Talk

Reading Vital Signs

When evaluating a horse’s health status, its vital signs should be taken, assessed, and recorded. Evaluation should occur when the horse is healthy to establish baseline measurements and monitor the overall health and when the horse appears sick to determine if there is a deviation.

Regularly taking vital signs can help you become comfortable with the tasks and desensitize your horse. Temperature, pulse, and respiration, or TPR, are three key vital signs that should be assessed. In addition, the horse’s gums should be evaluated to assess dehydration and tissue blow flow.

The values listed are for adult horses at rest. Horses recently exercised would have higher values. Additionally, rate may vary based on the horse’s size, with larger horses often having lower rates and smaller horses often having higher rates. Always assess the individual horse, establishing what that horse’s averages are before illness is suspected.
